One year ago, on December 25, 2005, we held an informal get together of MMC alumni from MO and surrounding states in Columbia, MO. We had so much of fun through out the whole day! There was the excitement of meeting batch mates, seniors and juniors after many years and reconnecting with the common past. Add to that the good food and the 'chutkis'. It was so nice to see some old faces and a few new faces. I was constantly reminded of that day yesterday. I just wanted you all to know my feelings and wanted to wish you all 'Eid Mubarak' and all the best wishes for a 'Happy New Year 2007'. Definitely one of the highlights of the year 2006 for us was the first ever Reunion of MMC at New York in July. Those few days were also filled with fun and enjoyment. Thanks to my gracious hosts and to all (organizers and participants alike) who made that event a great success. Once again, I wish you all "Eid Mubarak" and "Happy New Year". By the way, I like to thanks to MMC-DANA for making this beautiful website, it seems to me a new Campus of MMC on Internet, which is approachable from any place of the Universe. May I propose something that the name of different part of this web page can be name according to the name of our different Hostel Buildings? Looking forward to hear from NY residents. Few weeks before I have discovered MMC-DANA through Internet, since then I am so excited to know more about it. Last week I had a long conversation with Dr. Zakir Mridha of M-24, I came to know a lot about MMC-DANA from him. It is really a wonderful job that must be appreciated. During our MMC life, we all have passed our golden time and now we can meet again each other at MMC-DANA. Unfortunately, the current MMC students do not know anything about it. I think it will be nice if MMC-DANA would establish something in MMC Campus, so that every body can get to know about this exciting platform. I live in Dhaka, I will be more than happy if I can do anything for MMC-DANA. Please ask me if MMC-DANA need any kind of assistance in Dhaka. I will really feel myself lucky to be with MMC-DANA. Wishing all the best to MMC-DANA. Iftekhar Mahmud (Rahat) M-32.

I feel it my fiduciary duty to mention here one of most enriched and powerful segment of MMC – DANA Grand Reunion 2006. The CME program kicked off the day with Dr. Reza Chowdhury’s magnificent presentation on management of Diabetes Mellitus. I thought it was one of very high quality, well delivered, and comprehensive presentation on Diabetes management. It was full of updated information which was essential to clinicians for everyday practice. Next presentation was mine. I was not sure how effective I was in conveying recent interventional modalities available for refractory headache, because there are so many options available at present. Any body interested in the subject (or any chronic pain condition) is most welcome to contact me directly to share information. Next on line was Dr. Pariza Rahman , she was stunning with her presentation on perioperative cardiac assessment . A masterpiece , both in content and presentation , is well recommended for clinicians who are engaged in taking care of patients who undergo surgery. All practicing physicians need to get familiarized with ACC/AHA guidelines , which was presented clearly and comprehensively. After the Tea Break, Dr. Abu Shamsuzzaman presented a original paper on sleep apnea and cardiovascular disease mechanisms. It was a superb , high quality and comprehensive paper . Again , this presentation was very valuable for clinicians who take care of patients with cardiovascular disease everyday. It is mind boggling and at the same time illuminating how serious CVD are related to sleep apnea, which is much undiagnosed or under diagnosed clinical entity even at present. I wonder how big the problem is when obesity (and Obstructive sleep apnea) is growing exponentially in USA. Dr. M M Alam Tuku , while played the moderator of the CME segment , appeared with his magnificent original paper on Infective endocarditis and Bacteremia . It was powerful and pointed ( in Powerpoint !). Due to mastery on his subject , one of the most complicated problem in clinical practice appeared simple , understandable and enjoyable . In a personal note, I am glad to have Dr. M M Alam (or somebody like him) around, With my patient with MRSA or VRE. A marvelous presentation, a clinician’s best friend. Last , but not the least , was no nonsense Dr. Abdul Baset Khan. I had a privileged of knowing him since MMC days . He presented an excellent review of preventive management of CVA , which shows his extensive knowledge in field of neurology. A must know for all clinicians . Overall, the presentation were all very high quality , university grade and well thought of . It was very clear that many hours of hard work and labor was put in to create the presentation slide alone , with many more weeks months and years of experience and knowledge behind each . I , on behalf of CME sub-committee , congratulate all presenter for the job well done , and appreciate all attendee for their support . Hats off to MMC-DANA CME !!!! Shafi Khalid, MD

We really had a wonderful time at NY reunion event on July 2, 2006. I have enjoyed every moment of it. It was really nice to meet so many doctors who passed from MMC. I am carrying the video of the event and if possible I will try to show it to MMC staff during my upcoming trip to Bangladesh. Over all management was very efficient and the food was excellent! It was a great news for me when I knew that MMC doctors were having a grand re-union on July 2006 in NY. Earlier this year, I was planning to visit USA and Canada but was not able to fix a suitable time. This news made it easier for me to make a perfect plan to visit USA. It is a great opportunity to meet my old friends on the occasion. I flew from Australia to NY to attend this grand event. Many thanks to Shamim Bhai, Imtiaz Bhai, Tuku Bhai for letting me know about the reunion and creating an excellent Website! See you there! Rokon Ahmmad M-23 Australia

It is indeed very nice to see our beloved Medical College and its alumni activities online. In home country, it is time consuming and troublesome to make such a nice website. Through this website at least we can communicate with each other wherever we are in the world. Thanks to Imtiaz, Tuku and also to those whose who are working on it. Sazzad M-19, Bangladesh.

Dear MMC GANG I am really glad to hear about the MMC Reunion. My special thanks go to those energetic and enthusiastic MMC FAMILY Members who made it possible. After so many years of living here I am more nostalgic today then ever before. No matter how good or sometimes not so good days those were, today all those are my old golden happy days perhaps the best time of my life. How about yours? I don’t want to deprive myself of from seeing my classmates, seniors and juniors all at once. So I will try my best to be there and encouraging all to do so. I am sure we will enjoy our time there and will bring some good old memories back home to keep on going with our busy life until the next Reunion. Thanking you all. Sincerely. It's wonderful to see the picture of MMC buildings online. It takes me to those old days of absolute surprise when I got some very extraordinary moments in my life, which I didn't feel at the time when I was there. But verily no more of obscurity as they walk around me everyday like the subtle sounds of a fleeting rain whispering day in and day out "Hey where are you? I am here". Thanks to MMC-DANA for cobbling the clouds that are flying in the North American skies into a band of rainbow and this is indeed what we need in times of wilderness because it is finally our home where we should return at the end of the day. Congratulations organizers! Great shot!!! Faiz Kabir
